Our Vision

The vision of the ULU ISoc Network is to generate a spark of Unity amongst the Muslim students of London . ULU ISoc believes that the best way to help change the situation of the Muslim Ummah globally is to unite the Muslims upon Islam locally. Our religion is one, our book is one and our Lord is one – if we work sincerely for it, we as an Ummah, can be one again.

We believe knowledge and action go together and either one without the other is useless. Therefore, we hope that we can help produce well-rounded Muslims who are able to excel in implementing the religion in all spheres of life.

Our methodology is to organize events upon which everyone can unite, participate and enjoy. Though we organise an annual Charity week, University Outreaches and Annual Dinner for all London students, their purpose is NOT raising money for charity, encouraging students to go into higher education or having a fun and informative dinner. Their purpose is to act as events during which Muslim students can come together, breakdown barriers of ignorance and mistrust and unite whether they are practicing or non-practicing, Arab or Indian, Hanafi or Hanbali, active or inactive.

We hope to focus on the forgotten 99% of Muslim students who are alienated from Islam and Muslims. The 1% of Muslims who are “practicing” or “active” are generally bitterly divided amongst themselves.  We feel that the time has come for us to agree to disagree and form a united front. Our aim is a unity of purpose not a uniformity of views.

Our teams try to maintain a level of professionalism and cutting edge innovation not usually seen in Islamic society work. From TV shows to multimedia presentations, from an open structure and transparency on the website forum to a willingness to be flexible – we hope to set the standard for how to run an effective and united Islamic society.

We refuse to declare our affiliation with one group or another due to the fact that we believe in calling people to Islam and not to our version of Islam. The Quran and Sunnah are our standards and though we are human & may falter, we will never stop trying to better ourselves.

In conclusion, we are the workers of Allah - working to rebuild and reunite the Ummah of Muhammad (SAW) one person at a time, for the glory of His (SWT) name.

Ameen.
